Together, Bonney and Richard are co-founders (1978) and co-directors of the New York Psychosynthesis Institute and are on the faculty of the Italian Society for Psychosynthesis Therapy in Florence. Authors of The End of Fear: A Spiritual Path for Realists, Dante’s Path (featured in Oprah’s "O" magazine and her new book, Live Your Best Life), and Healing Addictions: The Vulnerability Model of Recovery, Bonney and Richard bring thirty years of experience in the fields of psychotherapy, addiction recovery, holistic health, transpersonal psychology and meditation to their teaching and private practice with individuals and couples.

They have taught and supervised professionals in universities and graduate schools, Bonney at Molloy College and the College of New Rochelle, Richard at Hofstra University and St. John’s University, including the development of innovative courses in clinical imagery and meditation, and have taught internationally to professional and self development audiences in Canada, Germany and Italy. Prior to private practice, Bonney’s work included in-patient psychiatry and substance abuse treatment settings. A pioneer of holistic nursing, she contributed two chapters to the standard text for the field, Holistic Nursing: A Handbook for Practice Richard’s past work includes cardiac and cancer rehabilitation, counseling in an alcohol treatment center, and directing a hospital-based program for adolescents. Together, they brought innovative mind-body-spirit principles and services to the Greenwich Village community at the height of the AIDS crisis.

"Higher consciousness objectively exists. It is one of the primary experiences of living."
–Roberto Assagioli, M.D.

In addition to four years of training and certification in the transpersonal psychology of psychosynthesis, they studied brain-wave biofeedback at the Menninger Foundation lab of Elmer Green, trained in Zen and in mindfulness, studied QiGong with Dr. Ching Tse Lee and now with Peter Yates, and have traveled extensively to deepen their understanding of the emotional healing principles in the various spiritual traditions. Their studies led them to the monastery of the Medieval mystic, Hildegard of Bingen, in Germany and to the Sufi Rumi’s Mevlevi Order in Istanbul, and they have also guided others on sacred art and meditation retreats to Florence. They bring this synthesis of professional and personal study to their therapeutic work and to their training of professionals.
